Magnetic Exposure Limits

Lately, the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) has set guidelines for the recommended exposure limits that many countries (e.g. Germany) follow when setting their exposure limits. These guidelines are set for the average population and cannot directly address the requirements of a minority of potentially more sensitive people (for instance people with pacemakers).

Below are some sample magnetic field levels that the average member of public is likely to be exposed to along with a table showing how the magnetic field of electrical appliances falls with distance.
